Eligible Deflation Limit of Civil Construction Work



 AS PER BNBC 2020 & ACI CODE  DEFLATION LIMIT 


1. For Live Load = L/360

2. For (Live+Dead) Load = L/240

Here L= Span Length.

BNBC 2020 of our designed model cannot exceed the given deflection limit.

Let Span Length = 20' then

The deflection limit given by BNBC 2020 will be –

For LL= L/360

(20x12)/360= 0.67 inches

For (DL+LL) = L/240

(20x12)/240= 1 inch.

And now if we calculate the deflection limit given by BNBC 2020 of our designed model we get-

0.67 inch for LL & 1 inch for (DL+LL).

Using the 3-4-5 Method of Building Layout

Why does the building layout follow the 3-4-5 Method? Identify a Base Line: 1. Start by marking a baseline along one edge of the area where the right angle is needed. For example, this could be the edge of a foundation or a wall. Measure Along the Base: 2. From one end of the baseline, measure 3 units along this line. Mark the end of this measurement as Point A. Measure Perpendicular Line: 3. From the same starting point (Point O), measure 4 units at approximately a 90-degree angle to the base. You can use an adjustable square or approximate the angle by eye. Mark the end of this measurement as Point B. Check the Hypotenuse: 4. Measure the distance between Point A (on the baseline) and Point B (on the perpendicular line). If the distance is exactly 5 units, then the angle between the two lines is a perfect 90-degree angle. By following these steps, you can quickly and accurately establish a square layout for building foundations or other construction projects.
