According to BNBC 2020, the different regions of Bangladesh have been divided into four parts according to the intensity of earthquakes.

These are

1/ Less earthquake prone area

2/ Medium earthquake prone area

3/ Severe earthquake prone areas



4/ Very serious earthquake prone area

1/ Less earthquake prone areas:

It includes the south western region of Bangladesh

Barisal

Khulna

Jessore,

Rajshahi...

Seismic Zone Coefficient, Z= 0.12

2/ Medium earthquake prone area

It includes lower central and north western parts

Noakhali

Dhaka

Pabna

Dinajpur

Also parts of southern region including Sundarbans

3/ Severe earthquake prone areas

Upper Central and North-Western parts which include ...........

North Eastern part which includes Sylhet, Mymeningh, Kurigram
